New data from the UK Government's Department for Education’s annual Children in Need census has found that the annual number of child protection investigations hit a record high last year, despite significant harm being found in less than a third of cases, causing charity Family Rights Group to warn that families are being dragged “unnecessarily into an intrusive system”.
