A number of upcoming events provide opportunities for those with Safeguarding responsibilities to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- ‘Bridging the Sciences: New Approaches to Child Protection’ is a special symposium on June 2-3, 2025 that seeks to re-frame the conversation and is free to attend online, although places are limited. Childlight, in partnership with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) and Emory University, is assembling some of the world's leading authorities for the event in Atlanta to promote fresh thinking to tackle this hidden pandemic. - Scottish Bairns' Hoose Knowledge Exchange Webinar Pauline Cochrane (West Lothian Council) and Kirsty Pate (Programme Lead for the Trauma Responsive Social Work Services) will share their learning on implementing trauma-informed practice across teams working with children and families. The webinar will take place on Tues 3rd June from 12-1pm.
- Child Protection Lead webinar Children in Scotland is collaborating with Barnardo’s to host a webinar on child protection lead roles and responsibilities on 19 June, from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
- Tackling Image-based Online Abuse: Public Policy Exchange is hosting a webinar on tackling image-based sexual abuse on 19 June, from 9:30am – 1:00pm.
